Three charged with felonies after assault in Mills River

Michael Lee Sexton, who remains at large, and Daniel Allen Hamm are charged in connection with a robbery and assault.

Henderson County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday charged four people with multiple felonies after responding to a call about an individual who had been assaulted and robbed.

The victim was transported to Mission Hospital and was being treated for injuries sustained during the assault. Deputies identified four suspects involved in the assault at Warlick Road in Mills River and arrested three of them. One remained at large on Thursday. Arrested were:

  • Daniel Allen Hamm, 35, of George Chastain Road in Horse Shoe, charged with common law robbery (felony), felony assault inflicting serious injury, two charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, jailed under a $100,000 bond.
  • Meri Hester Gilliland, 38, of Gilliam Mountain Road, charged with common law robbery (felony), two charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, jailed under a $40,000 bond.
  • Lisa June Mangiardi, 50, of West Rosewood Trail, charged with common law robbery (felony), two charges of conspiracy to commit a felony, jailed under a $8,000 bond.

Still at large is Michael Lee Sexton, 36, of West Rosewood Trail. He is charged with common law robbery (felony), felony assault inflicting serious injury and two charges of conspiracy to commit a felony.
