Grand jury indicts man in overdose death

A Henderson County Grand Jury indicted a 24-year-old Swannanoa man on second-degree murder charges in the overdose death of a Flat Rock man last December.

Brandon Keith Morris is charged in the death of Joshua Wayne Hawkinson Dec. 4. The death was investigated by and presented to the grand jury by detectives of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. Morris is currently incarcerated at a North Carolina state prison and will be served with the indictment at a later date, the sheriff's office said.
