MaryRose Ronzio Walsworth, a dedicated and inspiring presence in the lives of those who knew her, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on September 1, 2025, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Born on July 13, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, MaryRose carried with her a legacy of resilience, dedication, and love.

From an early age, MaryRose demonstrated remarkable determination and work ethic, beginning her working life at the young age of 9 in her family's store in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and received her driver’s license when she was just 14 years old. Her journey of continuous growth led her to earn a bachelor’s degree with honors in business communications when she was 50 years old from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, laying a strong foundation for her successful career.

MaryRose's professional life was marked by her 12-year tenure at Ashland Chemical Company, where she contributed significantly in Quality Control and various other positions. Her commitment to excellence left an indelible mark and influenced many of her colleagues along the way. MaryRose also worked for Diamond Cellar in Columbus, Ohio. From an early age, she developed an appreciation for fine jewelry that she got from her Aunt Rosie. She also worked for Kal Mar, a forklift company, and finally, Lincoln Electric, a welding company. She loved interacting with her customers and kept in touch with some of them even after retirement.

The most important thing in MaryRose's life was her family and friends. She loved family gatherings and hosted Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Year's, Birthday, and Winter brunch celebrations throughout her life. This gave her great joy. She especially liked getting together with her dear friends for impromptu lunches, dinners, or gatherings on the deck, one of her favorite places.

MaryRose was an avid walker. She and her husband would get up. lace up their sneakers and hit the pavement. Walking through the neighborhoods, she got to meet and become friends with many of her neighbors. MaryRose also loved to read, play golf, and get together with friends for a game of euchre. Throughout her life, she wrote limericks for family and friends. Her collection is two inches thick. In her younger days, she also ferried cars from Detroit to the West Coast and Florida for a car dealership in Detroit. These were some of her greatest adventures that she shared with her best friend, Helen Churilla. She would find great joy in retelling her trip driving a new Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz to California with Helen.

MaryRose had a caring heart for those less fortunate. For many years, MaryRose, her mom Marie, her Aunt Rosie, and her best friend Helen, would make stuffed frogs for handicapped children for Christmas. Over the years, more than 2500 were made.

In Hendersonville, she volunteered at IAM for 13 years.

Her spiritual life was equally important, as she became a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in 2009, where her faith and compassion continued to inspire those around her.

MaryRose is preceded in death by her cherished parents, Charles Ronzio and Marie Van Fleteren Ronzio, and her beloved sister, Toni Ronzio Brophy. Her memory will continue to be cherished by her loving husband of 38 years, Gary "Wally" Walsworth, whom she met at Ashland Chemical Company in Dublin, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Joann Hanselman, and brother-in-law, Jim; nieces, Maria "Dahlink" Ladd and her husband, Frank and Kathy Naeger and her husband, Jeff; and nephews, Robert Perry and Charles Perry.

Though the world has lost a true beacon of strength, the memory of MaryRose will continue to inspire those who were blessed to have known her. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, as family and friends gather to celebrate her extraordinary life and enduring spirit.
