Job fair offers public service careers at $18/hour and up

Mountain Area Workforce Development is hosting the "Excellence in Public Service Job Fair" 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the WNC Agricultural Center’s Virginia Boone Building in Fletcher.

The Virginia Boone Building is located across from the Asheville Regional Airport on N.C. 280. The entrance to the job fair will be at Gate 5 of the Ag Center fairgrounds. Participating federal, state and local government employers are featuring hundreds of job opportunities available paying $18 per hour and in most cases much more.
To participate employers must be public, federal, state and local government employers. There is no cost for employers and job seekers to participate. Employers interested in participating should email nathan@landofsky.org to receive the registration link. Registration deadline is noon Tuesday, March 22.
Participating employers include Asheville Fire Department, Buncombe County, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department, Henderson County, Transylvania County, city of Hendersonville, Macon County, N.C. Department of Public Safety, N.C. Department of Transportation, N.C. State Highway Patrol, Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Army, UNC Asheville and others.
