County to salute veterans before music and fireworks

Henderson County will recognize veterans and current military personnel during the annual Fouth of July celebration Friday at the Visitors Center on South Main Street.

 

Organizers have also invited Boy Scouts and adult Scout leaders to attend in uniform. Events begin at 7 p.m. with patriotic music, followed by the Salute to Veterans program, recognition of first responders, the Music on Main Show featuring Tom Brown One Man Band and fireworks at dark.

Here is the schedule of events:

 

  • 7:00-7:15 – Patriotic Music on the Visitors Center Stage
  • 7:15-7:30 – Salute to Our Veterans
  • Introduction
  • Presentation of the colors by the Henderson County Honor Guard
  • Moment of Silence
  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • The Star-Spangled Banner
  • First Responder Recognition
  • Armed Forces Medley
  • God Bless America
  • 7:30-9:30 – Music on Main Street featuring Tom Brown / One Man Band
  • After dark – Independence Day Fireworks Show (If you can see the red balloon you can see the fireworks)
