Naturalist to lead tours at Flat Rock Park

FLAT ROCK — A naturalist will lead tours of the Park at Flat Rock at 9 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month starting on April 4.

Fred Roane is a naturalist who has a wealth of knowledge about the local environment and as a volunteer, will share his knowledge with the public. He explains that as spring goes into summer and summer into fall, there are many changes we may not notice. As the months go on, each tour will present something new. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, a hat, perhaps sun screen, a camera and maybe a notebook. Roane will be there rain or shine, so there are no make up days.
This activity is open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Sorry, no dogs.
Look for more information about future walks on the Park’s Facebook page. The Village of Flat Rock web page has volunteer opportunities, so please check to see if there is a activity or committee of interest to you.
