Community Theatre pulls plug on 2020 season

The Hendersonville Community Theatre has pulled the plug on its 2020 season, joining others as the latest live performance victim of the coronavirus shutdown.

"At this point, we think it is both unlikely and unwise for HCT to resume live theatrical programming before the end of 2020," HCT said in a news release. "Therefore, we have decided to set our eyes toward selecting productions for a strong 2021 season, with a triumphant return."

The theater hopes to reschedule shows that were already in rehearsal when the organization shut down, including Driving Miss Daisy, Noises Off and Three Tall Women.  It had no specific dates to announce.

"We will be pursuing sources of support and funding that will protect and ensure that we will be strong and even more robust than before," HCT said. "Please visit our donation page to learn how your financial contribution to HCT can help us through this difficult time.

"There will be a day for us all to join together in celebration to perform and entertain with live theatre in our home in Hendersonville again. And with your faith, support, and your efforts to keep yourselves safe and healthy, we will all be able to laugh, cheer, applaud and embrace under the lights again."
