Hendersonville hires new city clerk

The city of Hendersonville has hired a new city clerk, Jill Murray, who will start later this month.

Murray, currently clerk for the Brevard City Council, will begin her service with the city of Hendersonville on Nov. 14.

“We are looking forward to Jill Murray joining the city of Hendersonville team as our new city clerk,” Mayor Barbara Volk said. “The clerk position is of utmost importance to a municipality, and we know Ms. Murray’s training and experience will serve her well.”

JMurray has served the Brevard community for nine years. She has held the position of clerk for close to five years after previously serving as executive assistant to the city manager, deputy city clerk and HR specialist. She is a Certified Municipal Clerk with both the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks. She is also a graduate of the North Carolina School of Government Municipal and County Administration program.
