LAUREL PARK — A 38-year-old woman was charged with second-degree murder after law officers responding to "an incomplete 911 call" Sunday morning found a 58-year-old man dead of an "obvious fatal wound," Laurel Park Police Chief Bobbie Trotter said in a news release. Vanessa Ledbetter, who was charged in the man's death, was jailed at the Henderson County Detention Facility.
Laurel Park and Hendersonville police officers dispatched at 10:31 a.m. Sunday to 16 Lake Drive discovered a white male victim lying in the rear patio of the residence. Laurel Park police identified the victim as Robin Bracken. The victim was pronounced dead by Henderson County EMS. The medical examiner's office, which also responded, was expected to conduct an autopsy soon, Laurel Park police said.
The Laurel Park Police Department expressed condolences to the families involved and thanked Hendersonville police, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office animal control unit, Valley Hill Fire & Rescue, Henderson County EMS and the Henderson County Recue Squad for their response.
