Hendersonville is getting another national discount retailer.
Ollie’s, a seller of everything from flooring to food, cookware, toys and games, electronics and more, is coming to Henderson Crossing. It will occupy the space on the end next to Harbor Freight. The discounter, which calls itself America's largest retailer of closeout merchandise and excess inventory, was founded in 1982.
“Our 612-plus ‘semi-lovely’ stores sell merchandise of all descriptions and some beyond description,” the retailer says. “You’ll find real brands at real bargain prices in every department. … Our buyers scour the globe for closeouts, overstocks, package changes, manufacturer-refurbished goods, and irregulars from the finest manufacturers in the world. If a manufacturer makes too much of an item or changes their packaging, Ollie’s will buy the overstock at a discount and pass the savings on to you!”
Merchandise purchased at Ollie's is covered by a “30-day No-Hard-Time Guarantee” as long as the buyer has a receipt. Other Ollie’s nearby are in Greenville, S.C., Forest City and Marion.
The signing of the close-out merchandise discounter continues a trend of off-price retailers filling vacant storefronts in shopping centers on Four Seasons Boulevard. At Blue Ridge Mall, retailers HomeGoods, Marshall’s, Ulta and five Below have all opened this year.
Hendersonville Crossing is managed by Bill Hale, the longtime financial chief for the late Loren Wells, founder of the Bonworth women’s clothing chain. Eric Goodman, a Southern Commercial real estate broker, is the agent for the property.
The shopping center has commissioned the design and obtained NCDOT approval for a new signalized entry that will align Linda Vista Drive with a new driveway into the shopping center. Another space available for lease, Goodman says, is the pad where video renter Blockbuster once stood.
