The readers theater play The Many Lives of Carl Sandburg will be performed at several venues in the coming months.

The play was written by John Quinley, author of the book Discovering Carl Sandburg and the print series Letters from a Sandburg Docent.

The production in one act runs for about 75 minutes. Sandburg’s life story is told by six players who give narration, dramatic and humorous readings from his poetry and prose, and perform songs from Sandburg’s American Songbag. As the audience finds their seats, images of Sandburg and his circle are projected on a screen. It all comes together in an informative, entertaining and thought-provoking production.
