Company eyes adding 33 jobs paying $69,000/year

A manufacturer that currently has operations in Henderson County could win tax incentives worth $87,000 in exchange for creating 33 new jobs at an average wage of $68,788 at another site it is considering, according to a public notice announcing a public hearing on the economic development property tax refunds.

The proposed incentives for the company, code-named Project Blaze, come before the Henderson County Board of Commissioners at its regular mid-month meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the Historic Courthouse.

The company “is contemplating a new site with new employees” in the county. If the plans go forward, it would invest at least $1,011,649 in real property, not including any land acquisition costs, and $5,185,000.00 in manufacturing equipment.

The first year incentive would be up to $4,091.57, based on the new investment, the number of new employees and the county’s incentives guidelines, which includes paying more than the average wage in Henderson County for full-time employment. The maximum incentives over five years would total up to $87,503.
