Four charged in Lake Summit vandalism

LAKE SUMMIT — The Henderson County Sheriff's Office charged four young men with a string of vandalism early Saturday at Lake Summit.
The vandalism caused $12,000 to $20,000 worth of damage to eight vehicles, a boat walkway and the yard and landsc aping of the Zirconia Post Office, the sheriff's department said in a news release.
After the investigation, Henderson County Sheriff's detectives charged the four local men, who turned themselves Saturday.
Arrested were:
- Butch Levi Heatherly – 19, of Schoolhouse Road in Mills River, charged with 9 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and released after posting a $ 1,000 secured bond.
- Christopher Garrett Smith - 22, of Sunset Vista Road in Hendersonville, charged with 9 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and remains in the Henderson County Detention Center under a $ 9,000 secured bond.
- Daniel Ray Sumner – 19, of Rocky Ridge Road in Hendersonville, charged with 10 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and released after posting a $ 1,000 secured bond.
- Garrett Calvin Merrell – 19 years of age, of Yale Road in Hendersonville, charged with 10 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and released after posting a $1,000 secured bond.
