City targets weedy yards

The city of Hendersonville will mow yards and vacant lots and charge the cost to property owners if the City Council authorizes the work.

City law allows the city to assess property owners for the mowing of weeds and high grass and removal of trash once certified letters to the owners have failed to remedy the overgrowth.
The following property will be targeted for cleanup, with property owner, address and type of nuisance listed:

  • Wesleyan Methodist Church, 911 Highland Avenue, high grass and weeds on bank, trash, old chairs, crates, wood, van used as storage.
  • First Citizens Bank & Trust, 111 Florence Street, high grass and weeds.
  • Calvin Wade and Eva Reyna Frazier, 519 Brooklyn Avenue, high grass and weeds.
  • Bank of America Home Loans, 1315 East Bane Street, high grass and weeds.
  • Jared C. Webb, 318 Resort Street, old tires.
  • David M. and Sheila Goranson, 43 Hidden Treasure Lane, high grass and weeds in front yard.
  • Hunting Creek Associates LLC, 904 Greenville Highway, high grass and weeds, piles of brush, trash.
  • Eastside Associates LLC, Signal Hill Road and North Main Street (vacant lot), high grass and weeds.
