Courthouse screening catches woman carrying handgun

Sheriff's deputies arrested a 30-year-old Hendersonville woman security personnel at the Grove Street Courthouse found that she was carrying a Jennings .22-caliber handgun in her purse.

Danielle Dianne Heaps, of Spring Street, was arrested after the courthouse entrance screening detected the handgun at 3:30 p.m. Friday. When they investigated further, deputies found that the handgun was stolen and that Heaps was wanted on an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on previous charges. 

She was charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm, misdemeanor possession of a firearm on the premises of a courthouse and misdemeanor failure to appear. She was released after posting a $10,400 bond.
