Missing man found safe

The Henderson County sheriff's office said an 84-year-old man who left his home in Flat Rock Saturday afternoon and hadn't returned by dark has been found safe in Mecklenburg County.

Paul Connell was driving a maroon Subaru Outback. He had a history of strokes and memory problems. The sheriff's office issued a missing person alert shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday and announced around 11 a.m. Sunday morning that Connell had been found.
