Man jailed on charge of threatening medical office

A 54-year-old man wanted for making a threatening call to a Pardee UNC Health Care practice was jailed on a $20,000 bond after he turned himself in Thursday, the city police department said.

Brant Goodwin Stephens turned himself one day after the medical practice reported the threatening call to Hendersonville police. The Medical Office Building and additional buildings were placed under a lockdown. Officers responded and began their investigation.

Stephens gave up after the police department sent his mugshot to media outlets and issued a news release saying he was believed to be driving a 2008 white Ford van with a Florida tag.
