Big rain tonight, nicer weekend

The area is expected to get big rain overnight before clearing later Friday and a dry, springlike weekend.

The National Weather Forecast predicted a 30 percent chance of showers this afternoon increasing to 100 percent chance tonight with 1 and 2 inches possible through midmorning Friday. Thundershowers are possible.
Saturday should be sunny with a high near 68 and Sunday partly sunny with a high of 69, the NWS said.
