New chief nurse starts work at Pardee

Denise Lucas has begun her duties as the new chief nurse at Pardee Hospital.


Lucas, whose title is vice president for clinical services and chief nursing officer, comes to Hendersonville from Providence Hospitals/St. Augustine Sisters of Charity Health System in Columbia, S.C., where she worked as a consultant and interim leader.
She was vice president for patient services and chief nursing officer at Dubois Regional Medical Center in Dubois, Pa., serving at the hospital for 22 years, until November 2011.
Lucas holds a masters degree in nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and holds a Nursing Executive Advanced, Board Certified designation from the American Nurse Credentialing Center.

"Denise brings with her the experience and vision to inspire and lead our nursing and clinical services while developing strong, effective partnerships with physicians, staff and leaders," Pardee said in a news release. "She will continue our focus on patient satisfaction and safety through building effective collaborations and creative measures to achieve the strategic goals set forth by the organization."
