24-year-old charged with assault in Saturday night shooting

Henderson County sheriff’s deputies charged a 24-year-old local man with felony assault early Sunday after a shooting Saturday night on Waddell Drive off Sugarloaf Road near I-26.

Deputies responding to a call at 8:25 p.m. Saturday found a shooting victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg. According to the victim and witnesses, the suspect left the scene in a vehicle before deputies arrived. The victim was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.

The suspect was identified as Jordon Cameron Scott of Flat Rock. He was located and arrested early Sunday morning at a residence in the Etowah community. Scott was charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and jailed on a $100,000 secured bond.
