A 23-year-old local man was jailed on a $2.1 million bond after deputies recovered drugs he is alleged to have tossed from his pockets while fleeing officers, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said.

Crime Suppression Unit deputies conducted search after a vehicle stop. The driver of the vehicle, Treyveon McClure, tried to run when officers were taking him into custody. Officers used a K-9 to capture McClure. During the foot chase, officers observed McClure allegedly discarding suspected illegal narcotics from his clothing. Officers were able to recover the narcotics. They charged McClure with two counts of felony trafficking in opium or heroin (level III), felony maintaining a place for the sale of controlled substance, resisting arrest and unauthorized use of motor vehicle.
