Multiple drug dealers and drug traffickers pleaded guilty and were sent to prison in a term of Henderson County Superior Court April 27-29, District Attorney R. Andrew Murray announced.

Superior Court Judge Peter Knight sentenced the defendants in these cases:

  • Juan C. Vera, 27, of Hendersonville, was convicted of trafficking in heroin and received an active prison sentence of 90 to 120 months.
  • Christina L. Duncan, 32, of Hendersonville, was convicted of trafficking in heroin and received an active prison sentence of 70 to 93 months.
  • Jodi A. Mace, 50, of Horse Shoe, was convicted of possession with intent to sell and/or deliver methamphetamine and for being a habitual felon. Mace received an active prison sentence of a minimum of 44 to 65 months.
  • Dakota C. Bass, 26, of Hendersonville, was convicted of possession with intent to sell and/or deliver .18 grams of fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bass received an active prison sentence of a minimum of seven to 18 months.
  • James M. Sanders, of Fletcher, was convicted of possession with intent to sell and/or deliver methamphetamine and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Sanders received an active prison sentence of a minimum of 48 to 86 months.

All the cases were investigated by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. Murray commended the Sheriff’s Office for its "steadfast commitment to eradicating the distribution of illicit drugs from our streets and in our neighborhoods.” Assistant District Attorneys Heather Brittain and Lisa Morrison partnered with the sheriff’s investigators in the drug charges against the defendants from arrest through final guilty pleas.

“By uniting with our dedicated and professional law enforcement partners, we were able to ensure multiple drug traffickers and sellers will not be poisoning the streets of Henderson County for a while to come,” Murray said in a news release. “Collectively, we are working hard to make Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania counties a safer place to live, work, play and raise a family."
