A 27-year-old Macon County woman was charged with 24 felonies and misdemeanors in connection with a string of car break-ins last month, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff's officed received multiple reports of vehicles that had been broken into during the overnight hours of May 26 in Mills River. After an extensive investigation detectives identified Rikki Elizabeth Jay as a suspect and charged her with 15 felony charges of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, eight counts of misdemeanor larceny and one count of attempted breaking & entering motor vehicle.
On Monday Macon County sheriff’s deputies located Jay. She was arrested and transported to Henderson County Detention Facility where she is being held under a $40,000 bond.
