The threat of an ice storm that would make roads impassable caused MountainTrue to call off Saturday's Christmas tree recycling event.
Folks may still drop off their trees at Jackson Park Ballfield #6 Lot. They will be chipped into mulch sometime next week. MountainTrue will announce when mulch is available for pick-up. Foam recycling has moved to the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at the Henderson County Convenience Center,
Tree lights can be recycled at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Office in Jackson Park. Tubs will be by the front door and lights can be left between now and Monday. Lights will be recycled to benefit the Henderson County 4H Club.
MountainTrue thanked the city Public Works, Henderson County Parks & Recreation and Solid Waste teams and the Henderson County 4H Club for their collaboration in the sustainable holiday effort.
