Local man charged with drugs and theft

At the request of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant during the early Wednesday at 611 West Chestnut Drive in Hendersonville.

During the search of the residence, deputies seized narcotics, drug paraphernalia and currency. Also during the search, deputies were able to recover a large amount of property stolen from Polk County. As a result of the joint investigation, deputies arrested Damon Elliott Pearce, 41, of 328 Blackwell Drive, Hendersonville.

Detectives charged Pearce with maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony possession of stolen property. During processing, Henderson County Detention officers found narcotics hidden on Pearce and charged him with an additional count of felony possession of a controlled substance in a detention facility. The investigation continues and further charges may be forthcoming. Pearce remains in custody in Henderson County under $22,600 secured bond.
